Born and raised in Devakottai — the heart of Chettinad — AN. Chockalingam is a first-generation entrepreneur whose story is one of relentless ambition, disciplined service, and an unshakeable commitment to rural India. A graduate of B.Com from Government Arts College, Coimbatore, he began his professional life at Bank of Madurai in New Delhi in 1975.

His banking career took him across the country and beyond. In 1981 he joined Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP), serving in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. He went on to Mashreq Bank in Mumbai before relocating to Dubai, where he rose to Vice President at Mashreq Bank. He then served as Chief Operating Officer at Mawarid Finance, Dubai, until 2023 — building nearly five decades of expertise in international finance and banking.

But at the age of 50, even while still at the peak of his banking career, Chockalingam made a defining decision: to build something lasting in rural Tamil Nadu. One venture at a time, he built the ANC Group — not merely as a business empire, but as a vehicle for rural upliftment, community welfare, and local employment. Today, having returned to India in 2023, he devotes his full energy to expanding the Group's reach and deepening its social impact.
